The "University of Phoenix"

Q. Is Phoenix State University (PSU) related to the University of Phoenix (UOP) in any way?

A. Absolutely Not!

1. Phoenix State has been in business since the late 1960's, over 20 years longer than the "University of Phoenix" online -- a prominent and high quality online school. PSU has 9 more physical campuses than UOP. (UOP began online in 1989, but had "8 students" on a small campus in 1976).

2. "Phoenix" in UOP refers to their location in Phoenix, Arizona, "Phoenix" in PSU stands for the bird that rises from it's own ashes-- representing owning your own company, or getting a new second career after leaving a dead end job!

3. UOP offers degrees, bachelor's, masters, "PhDs" etc. that have nothing to do with success in business from a trade school frame of reference. Phoenix State is a trade school and does not offer "degrees" of any kind-- instead, PSU offers real opportunities to succeed in your own business or trade career!

Phoenix State University has one of the lowest complaint records in the world, whereas there have been far more complaints about UOP as a percent of enrollees. Google "University of Phoenix Complaints" to compare. But to be fair, many of those complaints are probably from folks with too much time on their hands, or people who failed University of Phoenix, or lost their tuition, home, or other commitments to UOP. UOP is a very fine online school for what they offer-- DEGREES. PSU is the leading TRADE school on the web. PSU gets a lot of trash talking from the left, because PSU is pro 2nd amendment, which includes "traditional" left leaning schools. See Penn State for a humorous but sad example of this. Click HERE for objective information on UOP on Wiki.

Remember, Phoenix State offers programs averaging several hundred dollars in real, total costs, with no hidden fees. University of Phoenix can cost $60,000 or more!!! There is really NO COMPARISON. If someone tries to make one, take it with a grain of salt! UOP also takes over $2 billion a year from US taxpayers in aid. PSU takes nothing.

Interesting easily checkable FACT: PSU advertises only by word of mouth from successful grads. UOP spends nearly $122 million a year (NOT counting the $155 million to name the Glendale stadium!) on various advertising and marketing programs. 1. One indicator of PSU's great value and prices. 2. When you Google both schools, UOP gets 80 million results, PSU gets 60 million. How is this possible? Our low fees mean we graduate almost 100 times more students per year than UOP-- word of mouth from successful grads is, as the ads say, PRICELESS! Thank you PSU grads!!!

Many of PSU's programs began as due diligence for bond originators, and this is still a very large part of our portfolio. For a professional to get certified or re-certified for their bond, a due diligence/ testing organization has to certify to the bond underwriter that the program participant meets minimum bonding requirements. Trade pros need bonds and CEU's to either get licensed, or keep their license, and PSU is the underlying bond approval source for the largest professional associations in the world, from Nuclear Engineers to Medicine, Military, Law Enforcement, Information technology, and Home based businesses. Pros that lose their bonds are sent to PSU by the granting association for remedial review and re-certification! If you didn't get your credential at PSU, and you then find you need a bond, you might be surprised to learn that PSU is actually accepting, rejecting, or approving your bond in the background! This is one of our largest divisions, and our underwriters include GE Capital, Wells Fargo, AIG, and hundreds of other surety originators and underwriters. Our lucky grads meet the requirements right out of the box--as they are built into every program and association recommendation we send. Often a year's association membership, or a discount, is INCLUDED with your PSU cert as well.

Refund Policy: Unlike ANY other school, PSU gives no-questions-asked refunds to any student who at least tries to complete the program. Try to get this from a "scam!" These are given on a sliding scale, based on how far you've gotten in the program, just like other schools, and applies even if you do not pass! The ONE exception to ANY refund is an enrollee that sends, promulgates, publishes, promotes, or repeats hostile, critical, lying, slanderous, accusatory, foul language or other communications or threats, or is simply demonstrating buyer's remorse. We have tens of thousands of successful enrollees each week, but if a student chooses to read, believe, and promulgate the lies of a few disgruntled users, NO refund will be given, and we will prosecute the attack for libel and slander, to the full extent of the law.
